Stone Machinery Exporters Shift Gears as Western Demand Rebalances

Machinery exports are rebalancing. Italy's stone-technology exports held near US$1.04 billion in 2025 and rose 5.5% in H1 2026, while US

finished-marble imports slid. Chinese suppliers from Quanzhou and Xiamen are redirecting five-axis bridge saws, waterjet combos and multi-wire

machines toward Africa, the Gulf and South Asia.

Regulation shapes the export mix. California's engineered-stone silica proposal could cool US quartz-fabrication demand, yet it also raises orders

for dust-controlled wet-cutting and automated lines. The EU's forced-labour rule, effective December 2027, makes auditable, automated

equipment a selling point for exporters targeting European buyers.

Product strategy is consolidating. Buyers now favour combined sawjet systems and super-thin multi-wire saws delivering over 97% yield,

lower energy and faster payback. Exporters increasingly offer turnkey lines and local after-sales support rather than single machines,

as emerging-market customers prioritise whole-plant reliability.

Order pipelines look promising. Tanzanian Minexpo, the Shuitou Stone Fair in November and India's STONA 2027 are drawing Chinese and

Italian exporters into new territories. With global machinery demand growing about 4% a year, the winners will be those converting showroom

interest into installed base abroad.
