US and Europe Automate Countertop Lines as 5-Axis Bridge Saws Go Mainstream

Bridge saws remained the top earner in global CNC stone processing in 2025, capturing 39.8 percent of revenue—roughly USD 518 million.

Europe is the second-largest market with a 32.1 percent share, and Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal together generate about 19.4 percent

of worldwide bridge-saw revenue, fueled by premium countertops and architectural facades.

European fabricators lean on renovation, high-end architectural stone and sustainability-focused retrofits that demand tailored CNC solutions.

Italy and Spain remain global design and processing hubs, while growing preference for ultra-thin slabs and sintered, large-format porcelain is

reshaping shop investments across the region.

North America accounts for 21 percent of global stone-processing demand, with the United States supplying nearly 78 percent of regional

volume. Roughly 67 percent of facilities now run automated machinery, lifting efficiency by 34 percent, and 45 percent have adopted CNC

technology. Kitchen and bath remodeling keeps granite and quartz in focus.

Five-axis bridge saws and machining centers are becoming standard for mid-size countertop shops, with adoption climbing from about 45 to

65 percent since 2022. Leaders including Donatoni,Park Industries, SCM, Breton and Ganger are advancing sawjet, sink and seam systems,

while automation cuts fabrication labor by up to 60 percent.
