Stone Sector Shifts to Smart Plants and Lightweight Value-Add

Global natural stone demand remains firm, with 2027 market value seen near USD 128 billion, driven by infrastructure, renovation and high-end

commercial fit-out. Asia leads growth, while buyers increasingly ask for thin slabs, composite panels and certified low-carbon materials.

Processing equipment is the real hotspot. Five-axis CNC bridge saws, diamond wire saws, waterjet systems and AI nesting software are raising

yield and cutting waste. Automation share keeps rising as factories chase steadier quality and lower labor dependence.

At the 23rd Yunfu Stone Fair this month, smart-equipment zones expanded nearly 20%, with first releases of 5+1 five-axis bridges, robotic

polishing lines and digital inspection systems. Prefabricated stone wall systems also drew strong buyer interest.

The business model is changing fast. Stone firms no longer compete only on block price; they sell engineered panels, furniture, cultural gifts

and turnkey fabrication. RCEP buyer groups and overseas cloud warehouses show export is shifting to service and speed.
